Welcome to our first members of the clip up hall of fame!  These students have clipped up to purple 5  times this year!  Congratulations Ava, Maiya, Lylah, and Elizabeth.

Literature and Art

Every Friday the third grade has community time.  This is a time when all third graders get together to work on a project connected to our curriculum.  Community time is for those students who have finished all of their work for the week and have made good choices throughout the week.  Check out some of our projects!

Walkathon

We had a wonderful day on Friday for our walkathon.  We started out in the gym to stretch, pull for prizes and watch Mr. Karen get slimmed! Her are some pictures for you to enjoy.

We Love Michigan!

As a third grade we are starting our study of Michigan.  Students brought in a favorite picture of themselves somewhere in Michigan. Take a look!

We are well into week 3 and are moving right along! Everyone is learning to get along and when to talk and when to listen :) We developed out social contract and have classroom meetings every day to learn how to be a classroom community.   Listening can be a difficult skill to learn so we read the book "My Mouth is a Volcano" and decided how to not "erupt" when others are talking.  We also read the book "The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes" and learned about a growth mindset.  I will keep you updated on our classroom and what new things we are learning! 

Week 2

We are on week 2 of school and it still feels like summer!  The kids are having a hard time concentrating with the heat and humidity.  We are still trying and persevering to get through the beginning of the year testing.  We will start math this week so you will start seeing homelinks come home.  I will post a family letter later this week explaining what this  unit will cover.

Thank you again for all of your donations of school supplies for the classroom.  I will be looking at our schedule and sending out a sign up genius for parent volunteers by the end of September.
